I am Moving My Blog

I have with much thought decided to stop writing this particular blog. I already have another blog which most of my readers will be aware of anyhow as I am always pasting links to it!  I enjoy this blog and the interaction of my followers but I have had to decide to put myself and my family first.  Lately I have been busy looking after my poorly grandmother and also have some other things which have had to be done and I simply can't do everything.

I love my crafts and will always be doing them, inshallah. So I have decided to continue with my craft blog but I am now going to expand it and write about other things that I used to write about on this blog.  For example I am hoping to continue with the islamic book reviews and other general or faith topics.  Doing things this way will give me some extra time for personal matters.  It means I don't have to check on both blogs and have separate blog accounts. I was also having to update two facebook accounts for these pages and several other accounts, so all of this was very time consuming. I hope this streamlining will still ensure I am still keeping up with my blogging and being able to communicate with my followers as I really enjoy this.

I do hope that you will continue to follow me on my other blog as I do love linking up with everyone.  I shall leave this message on this blog for future viewers and leave the blog open rather than delete it all together. I think most of my loyal followers will understand why I made this decision, I really must put my family first and spend more time with them.  I am also currently learning Arabic and studying Islam more which is taking up a lot of my time, so family and my religion must be my priority.

Karima's Crafts - No Sew Fleece Pillow

Here is a really easy no-sew pillow tutorial for you. All you need are some pieces of fleece (I used old fleece baby blankets) and you are set! This project uses fabric glue but if you wish you can add a couple of stitches if you prefer! Here is my full tutorial link:no-sew-fleece-pillow.  This is also a great craft that children can do!

Book Review - The Ark of Nuh

This book is about the Prophet Nuh (Noah.) pbh

Nuh pbh prayed to Allah, who told him to build an Ark.  It tells the story of all the pairs of animals coming on board the Ark. It informs the children about the rain and flood and how Allah saved all them on board.

This book is a great read and the pictures are designed brilliantly to help tell the story.  This is a superb story to read to the very young or to give to the young children to read themselves. All my children have read this book and all have loved it and remembered the story.

Here are the book details if you are interested in purchasing it:
Title: The Ark of Nuh
Publisher: Goodword Books
ISBN: 8187570873

Karima's Crafts - Upcycling Used Tins

The containers above were actually coffee tins that I spray painted to make some stylish containers. These would normally be going in the trash but I decided to upcycle them as they are great for storage! Spay painting is such an easy way to transform anything. I also recently used the same tin of spray paint on an old vase. There are some more photos on my original post found here: www.karimascrafts.com

Karima's Crafts - Algerian Cookies Recipe

This photo shows some Algerian Shaped Cookies that I recently made. I have posted the recipe and a tutorial on my crafts blog. Here is the link: algerian-cookies-recipe. My children love making these cookies and love eating them even more! The recipe was given to me by my mother-in-law because she knows how much I love eating her cookies when we visit her.

Karima's Crafts - Burp Cloth Tutorial

This is a Burp Cloth that I recently made for a new mum. These are so easy to make, I used a pattern that I downloaded for free, but you can just make up your own. Here is my tutorial: burp-cloth-tutorial

This was part of a baby gift that I made using the fairy fabric. The photo below shows the other gift I also made.

Here is the link to the 'Tagged Blanket Tutorial' that I also made for the same mum: tagged-blanket-tutorial

I also want to apologise for the lack of new posts. I have been very busy lately and only had time to post these links from my craft blog. I do hope, inshallah to be getting back to putting up some original posts soon.

Karima's Crafts - Felt Strawberry Tutorial

This is a felt strawberry that I made recently, these are so easy to make and quick! Sorry for the blurry photograph - it is hard to get a close up on my camera phone!

These are made by hand stitching - so no need for a sewing machine. The photo below shows the basic things that you need.  I have the full tutorial on my crafts blog, here is the link: felt-strawberry-tutorial.

This is another project that my nine year old daughter did by herself because it is so easy and quick. She made a couple in one night!
